In a world where pink is believed to be for girls and blue for boys, the series Brazilian Identity, an ongoing project of photographer Ale Ruaro, seeks to discuss the issue of gender. With portraits of people who do not fit the classifications created by society and who do not need an exact definition to exist and communicate, the project sheds light on a necessary and urgent theme.

Supported by his own experience, having suffered prejudice by rejecting a place expected and pre-conceived, Ale, through his work, gives his contribution to making the world a more comfortable environment, housing people openly, freely and generously.
